THE ALPO® HOT AIR BALLOON TRIP SWEEPSTAKES IS INTENDED FOR PLAY IN THE UNITED STATES ONLY AND SHALL BE CONSTRUED AND EVALUATED ACCORDING TO UNITED STATES LAW. The ALPO® Hot Air Balloon Trip Sweepstakes ("Sweepstakes") starts at 12:00:01 AM Central Time on Saturday, March 4, 2006 and ends at 11:59:59 PM Central Time on Tuesday, August 1, 2006. Sweepstakes sponsored by Nestlé Purina PetCare Company, Checkerboard Square, St. Louis, MO 63164 ("Sponsor"), and administered by RMA, Inc., an independent judging organization.
ELIGIBILITY: Offered only in the 48 contiguous United States to dog-owning legal residents of the U.S., 18 years of age or older. If under age of consent (21 if a MS resident, 19 if an AL, NE or PA resident) entrants must have parent or legal guardian’s permission to enter. Employees of Sponsor, its parent company, affiliates, subsidiaries, advertising and promotion agencies, and their immediate family members and persons living in the same household of each are not eligible to enter. All federal, state and local laws apply. Void where prohibited.

All entries must be posted no later than 11:59:59 PM Central Time on Tuesday, August 1, 2006. If you enter more than once during the promotion period, only the entry that is posted, received and processed first will be eligible. In the event of a dispute as to who submitted an entry, the entry will be deemed submitted by the authorized account holder of the e-mail address. The authorized account holder is the natural person who is assigned to the e-mail address by an Internet access provider, on-line service provider, or other organization, or the domain associated with the submitted e-mail address. Sponsor and RMA may, at their sole discretion, prohibit you from participation in the Sweepstakes if you show a disregard for, or attempt to circumvent these Official Rules, or act: (a) in a manner that affects the administration, security, fairness or proper play or conduct of the Sweepstakes in any way; (b) with an intent to annoy, threaten or harass any other entrant or the Sponsor; or (c) in any other disruptive manner.
PRIZES: Ten winners will each receive a weekend trip for two to Albuquerque, New Mexico to attend the Albuquerque International Balloon Fiesta® to be held October 6 through October 15, 2006. Prize includes: round-trip coach airfare for 2 from major airport nearest the winner's home; 2 nights’ double occupancy hotel accommodations (1 room); a mid-size automobile rental for 3 days; and a $500 meals and miscellaneous expense allowance (est. total value: $3,000). Stated value represents Sponsor’s best good-faith determination. Actual value depends on travel origin, and will be used for tax reporting.
Winners are responsible for all expenses not specified including, but not limited to, gratuities, telephone and personal expenses, and applicable federal, state, and local taxes. Trip must include one adult, 21 or older. Winner and travel companion must travel together on all legs of flight. Travel restrictions may apply. Car rental subject to rental company’s rules and regulations; age restrictions apply.
WINNER SELECTION, NOTIFICATION, AFFIDAVITS AND RELEASES: Ten winners, randomly selected by RMA, will be notified by U.S. Postal mail by August 22, 2006. If a notification letter is undeliverable, or a prize is forfeited, that prize will be awarded to a randomly selected alternate winner. All judges’ decisions are final. Odds of winning depend on number of eligible entries received. Winners are required to execute and return within 7 days an Affidavit of Eligibility, Publicity, and Liability Release. Except where prohibited by law, acceptance of a prize constitutes permission to use the winner’s name, biographical information and likeness for purposes of advertising and promotion in all media without limitation or further compensation. Winners under the age of consent must have a parent or guardian sign and execute the Affidavit and Release. Failure to return an Affidavit and Release within the specified time will result in forfeiture of the prize.
GENERAL CONDITIONS: By entering the Sweepstakes, participants agree: (a) to be bound by these Official Rules and all decisions of the Sponsor and RMA, which shall be final and binding, and (b) that the Sponsor, its parent company, affiliates and subsidiaries, their respective officers, directors, agents, and employees are not responsible for and shall not be liable for:
(1) any incorrect or inaccurate information associated with the Sweepstakes, whether caused by Website users, tampering, hacking, or any of the equipment or programming associated with or utilized in the Sweepstakes;
(2) any error, omission, interruption, deletion, defect, delay in operation, or unauthorized access to the Website or in any material associated with the Sweepstakes; (3) any injury, damage, or loss to participants' or any other person's computer related to or resulting from participating in this Sweepstakes or downloading materials from, or otherwise using, the Website;
(4) telephone, electronic, hardware or software program, network, internet or computer malfunctions, failures or difficulties;
(5) any design, typographical or other errors, omissions or deletions in any materials associated with the Sweepstakes;
(6) garbled, illegible, incomplete, damaged, misdirected, late, lost, undelivered, or unprocessed entries;
(7) any condition caused by events beyond the control of the Sponsor which may cause the Sweepstakes to be disrupted or corrupted; or
(8) any loss, injury or damage of any kind caused by participation in this Sweepstakes, or by the acceptance and/or use of any prize. Sponsor reserves the right in its sole discretion to modify, cancel, terminate, or suspend all or any portion of this Sweepstakes should fraud, virus, bugs, unauthorized human intervention, systems malfunctions, failures or difficulties, or other causes beyond the control of the Sponsor and its agencies corrupt or affect the administration, security, fairness or proper play or conduct of the Sweepstakes.
By entering this Sweepstakes you give your consent for Sponsor to deliver your subscription and entry material and/or personal information to RMA and/or other Sweepstakes administrators as required for the purpose of administering the Sweepstakes.
