laptops are hard to find cheap but your best bet would probably be dell, maybe add a coupon or something the cheapest you can probably find a good laptop there for is around 800-900

Yes, I will look for some tonight. From research, I believe Dell is the best way to go as well. Are you just looking for a laptop to play with in class, or is this going to be your main computer?

As a college student in my third year for my BS in 3D animation computer graphics, I would never suggest a laptop for graphics production. They simply don't have the firepower when compared to a decent desktop, let alone the monitor size/resolution. As stated in previous posts, money is also a big issue. Just stick w/a good desktop. Sure you can't lug it around easily, but its much better for fitting your needs.
