picopir8 01-22-2008, 11:19 AM Anyone who uses this should still check around to see if it is worth using. In my area, BB is almost always more expensive than the competition, though there still are occasional deals.
The TRUST 01-22-2008, 01:03 PM Doesn't look like games are excluded. So if you have a PS3 and maybe if you're lucky enough to have the checkout allow you to scan more than one coupon you can save quite a bit. Burnout Paradise comes out today too.

Hot Tub 01-22-2008, 04:13 PM Oh well, if nothing else, it will pay the sales tax.
maddam333 01-23-2008, 02:16 AM I remember when deals could be had, now things I want are list price. People ask why I buy everything online, 10, 20, 30% or more, no tax, rebates, better service, etc. is why.
Nero Knot 01-23-2008, 03:22 AM I tried to use the Gift Card coupon yesterday on the Wii System and Games, hoping it would be good on at least the games, but my Best Buy excluded all Video Games considering them "accessories".
It figures though - they always give me a hard time; ever since I gave them a hard time over a photo in one of their ads.
They said the item wasn't on sale - I pointed to the photo in their ad and said their ad said it was in fact on sale.
Gee, I would only save $2 and they wouldn't budge (neither would I). Finally I asked to speak to the manager. He got all the facts and took the employee's side. Yeesh! I told the manager that for 2 bucks they lost a customer.
But I still stop there every month on the way back from a Doctor's appointment about an hour away. It gives me a much needed break. While there I'll walk around and ask questions, see if the employees know what they're supposed to know about HDTV (you'd be surprised at what they don't know), about certain videogame platforms and games. Even PC games.
The only reason I was buying another Wii system yesterday was that they had a few (4) left, and my brother and his family are coming to visit the weekend of the 2nd. When I saw him last September at his home I had brought down my Wii and they all loved it. They haven't gotten one yet and we haven't exchanged Christmas gifts yet - so they'll get a Wii among other items.

I have this idea about stores not honoring their ads and prices.
I used to work at Compusa several years ago. Stocking new stuff is easy. You just put all of the same stuff together. You can stock an entire aisle in an hour.
But go-backs are a big pain in the ass. You get a bunch of single items that you have to search the entire store for exactly where they are supposed to go. It takes two hours just to find where 20 things are supposed to go back to.
Take a big store like Best Buy, how can a person find where a Logitech MX1000 Mouse is supposed to go exactly? It might take a while. What about Mario Party 3 DS? It might take a little longer.
So this is the idea.
If a store like Best Buy won't budge on honoring an advertised price, and you have a bunch of items at the cash register, just leave it all there and walk out. If you have nothing better to do, go back into the store and do it again. The employees will be spending the next three hours putting the stuff back on the shelves. Go-backs are a huge pain in the ass in retail. Managers are always on the sales people to keep the shelves looking neat and keeping the products where they are supposed to be.
If they want to be jerks to the customer, then you be a jerk right back to them.

Nice. It's attitudes like this that make the world far worse off than it should be, IMO. Not that I'm perfect or anything, but I do my best to make a difference in a positive manner rather than continuing the downward spiral...

And what exactly is this supposed to accomplish?

Why not just file a complaint with your state's consumer protection division?
