I mailed rebates for Power Quest product on Jan 24th (Drive Image 7 and Partition Magic 8). I just learned that Symantec bought Power Quest and nobody in Symantec (including rebate dept) know how I can get my rebate request processed. :( Has anybody resolved something like this before or does anybody have a suggestion?

Legally, Symantec has to send you a rebate. When they purchased Power Quest, they also assumed the liabilities of Power Quest.

Since you aren't getting anywhere with them, contact the Attorney General (AG) or the Department of Consumer Protection (DCP) in your state -- or better, BOTH. Send them a copy of the rebates you sent to Power Quest, let them know that Symantec purchased Power Quest, and let them do the rest. The AG or DCP will follow up with Symantec and make sure that your rebates are honored. If not, the AG or DCP has the authority to levy heavy fines. In Utah, it is $1,000 for every rebate not honored.
