I used to use this alot, but lost money when the restaurants no longer took them, I had certificates I couldn't do anything with, the places decided not to do it anymore without warning and that was that. there's hardly anywhere in my area anymore unless I drive pretty far.

This is good only from 4a.m. - 11:59p.m. Today! First time they've ever dropped this low! If they don't have anything near you, it great if you go out of town at all. I was just away for 5 weeks and my hubby and I used one to try a great new restaurant. Also, we go away locally alot-pgh, buffalo, cleveland...how about people you know who live out of town.

I love these. I've said it before. Everyone's biggest complaint is that the restaurants are usually expensive. But I think of it as chance to buy one entry get the other free. I could never spend $25 p/person, but for two of us to get entree's for that price it's good. Or just go for desert, or appetizers.

There are quite a few restaurants in my area that accept them, but most do not appeal to me. We did buy 4 for a restaurant we wanted to try and really liked, but the place stopped accepting them. I believe restaurant.com advised we should pick a new restaurant to substitute, but my wife still has yet to do so.

This is an incredible deal, though. $25 food voucher for $2. How can you complain?

Last couple of times places have stopped participating, rest.com gave me vouchers for new ones. But there are only 67 restaurants listed within 15 miles of my zip code now (and that includes some with multiple locations so maybe it's more like 50). There used to be like 125. Some of those have outrageous restrictions. I may still get one though for a restaurant that has been participating for a while. $2 wouldn't be a huge loss as long as the restaurant still honors it.

My Husband and occasionally buy the certificates to certain places around our area. Actually going to use one tonight!

That sucks to hear some places don't take it anymore. I would be pissed!

yea lots of restaurants do not accept these coupons... i've wasted my share of money for these bogus coupons.... "restaurant owners have the discretion whether or not to accept these coupons", was what one of the restaurants told me. And don't expect any kind of response from restaurant.com when you complain about these bogus coupons. somebody needs to contact a consumer rights group about this company because i'm guessing this is a regular occurrence.

The restaurants choose to participate in the program. There is no reason why they would have restaurant.com advertise coupons from them if they did not choose to do so. That is why sometimes restaurant choices are limited. It is a way for some restaurants to get more people to come in.

also, from my experience, if I haven't used a coupon in a long time, they will credit me back the amount I paid for to use on a different coupon. (I don't know if this is still true, but that is what happened in the past).

worked for me

but I do have a question -

coupon states limit one redemption per party, per month, per restaurant

How can they tell if you use more than one per month?

p.s. if you are curious to know if a restaurant accepts them.. call the restaurant and ask!!

When you use your coupon they take it and call somewhere (I'm guessing an automated system) that verifies the coupon based on the number. That's probably how.
