Is it just me or is the rebate for a case instead of the notebook cooler?

    No Rebate! Beware!

    NO REBATE! BEWARE!

The rebate linked to this notebook cooler actually pertains to a different Antec product altogether. I just confirmed this problem with Buy.com's customer service (after two phone calls and lost of waiting time, of course). Rather than immediately correct or remove the faulty listing, Buy.com "corporate" is handling the matter and will correct the error within 24-48 hrs. In the meantime, I was told, Buy.com will assist those who purchase the item, expecting a $20 rebate, with collecting on the rebate. So, if you're inclined to have the additional hassle of securing a rebate with Buy.com's "assistance" go ahead and purchase the product. As for me, I'll skip it.

Rebate is for a CASE not the COOLER!

AFTER I bought the cooler I clicked on the rebate link and it's for the Antec CASE... not a cooler. So my price after rebate (that did not apply) is 23.44! :(

Here's another concern. I added a DVD to the order to get over $50 and get $20 off instead of $10. Even though both products say "free shipping eligible" I am forced to pay at least $2.90 or $3.30 shipping depending on if the extra item is a book or a DVD. It reduces the value of the deal.

Sounds like we need to rate this product so it is not considered a burning hot deal anymore.

    Refund given

Just thought it was worth mentioning to anyone like me (who made the mistake of buying this item without realizing that the rebate was invalid) that after almost 30 minutes of being on hold with customer service that a refund was issued. The representative on the phone seemed to be well aware of the problem and went ahead and processed it for me. We'll see what happens!

    request to cancel order

Unfortunately, I found out about the invalid rebate after already placing the order. So about 3 hours after ordering, I tried to cancel the order from Buy.com but it wouldn't let me because the item had "already entered shipping process."

I got an email from Buy that said I had three options: 1)keep item and pay non-rebate price, 2) refuse shipment when item arrives and carrier will return it to Buy.com with no cost to me, and I'll get credited, or 3) take the order, wait for an RMA, and then send it back to them at my cost. I think I'll go with option 2 and send it back to them by refusing the carrier.

For anyone who wanted to cancel but couldn't, maybe you can refuse your shipment, too. Just my 2 cents.

There is now a new link for a rebate. But alas it is now $10.

    call Fed Ex Directly

Many times Fed Ex drops off packages without ringing the doorbell and requiring a sig....so I called them , gave them the tracking number and they stopped shipment and will return the package to Buy.com...and hopefully I'll get a credit in a timely fashion. What infuriates me is that I do a lot of business with Buy.com, and they didn't return any of my emails!!
