XTi is for body only - No lens is included. The XT does include the lens.

Got my wife the XT with the lens last month for $670 shipped. I guess prices do drop towards the holidays.... This XTi is a slightly better camera, but no lens included.

And be prepared to wait for a while to get your camera from Dell. I ordered my Nikon D50 from Dell and it was backordered and took a month or more to be delivered.

The XTi is well well the price. I only waited about one week to receive my camera.
Since I have own Canon SLR cameras before, I just used one of my old lens and it worked like a charm. If you really want a good camera, choose the Canon XTi. You won't regret it. This is just one man's opinion that have been taking pictures for over 30 years. |

Lenses
Yes, the 35 mm Canon lenses will work on these digital cameras but note that the sensing unit is no 35 mm x 24 mm like the film cameras. Only the 5D and 1D have this large of a sensing unit. The XTi has a 22.2 mm x 14.8 mm sensor. So that means your old lenses have a 1.6 times effect on the zoom and do not use all of the lenses light gathering capability.
Personally, I buy the EF lenses instead of the EF-S (digitial) lenses because I would like to get a 5D in the future. |
