Ad Existing Customers - How to get 50% off XM Radio

This deal has worked for many, but not 100% of the time.

Some were quoted $77 for 1 year or $38.50 for 6 months. Some have re-tried with a different rep if the customer service rep did not give them the deal.

1. Call 1-800-682-4114
2. Tell the CSR that you would like to cancel because of the price and they will offer you a lower price.
- If CSR doesn't offer, cancel the cancellation request and just be honest and that you wanted the $77/year offer.

New Members can get free activation and 3 months free with code XMSCION03
Unconfirmed - code ZWINBACK may also give you $77/year

Yes that might work, but if it doesn't you have just lost your xm radio.

Yeah, but if you never had the deal to begin with...all you have to do is call up and sign up again.

The code that you can use to receive free XM activation and 3 free months of XM satellite radio is XMSCION03 . I just used it to activate my new xm radio and it worked fine over the website. I have also heard it works fine over the phone with them from others and even works on re-activations. After the 3 months free then they will charge you whatever your plan you chose was. After those 3 months is when I would call and either threaten to cancel or just ask for the 6 month or 12 month deal above. For me I will probably get the 6 month for $38.50 because I have to have at least 6 months to get my initial rebate. Then after the 6 months threaten to cancel and they will give 50%, if they don't I will re-sign up with the 3 months free again.

I just called to cancel my service and they offered me 1 year for $77. I acted surprised and took it

They also tried to sell me another radio for $19.99, but passed on that

Also if it doesn't work, you can just honestly tell them that you thought you were suppose to get an half off offer or just say you changed your mind and decided to keep it.

It's a bit strange, but you are talking over the phone. They can't see what you look like

Red7 - Stay on Target... Stay on target...

I am an existing customer. Have been since 2004 and bought a stand alone unit for my non-xm equipped car. Hey, this thread shouldn't be for hating on XM it should be about the deal.

I called, talked to one rep, who said that my account was only eligible for a seven dollar for the year deal, after I sited switching to HD radio. I said bump that, hung up, and called again. This time I threatened to straight up dump them and switch to Sirius. She moved on that and offered me the 6 months for 30 something. I asked if she could bump it out to a year and she agreed. 77 dollars one year AWESOME!!! :claps:

The merger according to the CSR is not complete and it looks like XM is struggling for control after the switch.

I'ven been doing this since 2004 and XM always was able to give me the $77 yearly contract every year. Just call and ask. If they say no, then the CSR will forward you to Retentions, and that's when the Retentions rep will grant you the $77 deal. Also, try to call during the day during business hours because you will end up with a rep from India, and they won't grant you the deal.

Our 3 month trial expires next week and today I just called and asked for the $77/yr price and got it no problem.

I just called to renew for my dad and there was no problem at all - didn't have to beg and no one tried to sell me anything.

When I did this to get the $77/year deal I just called and asked for it (def call during the day as the rep from India was not helpful when I called during evening hours).

All they asked me was "Did you receive a flyer in the mail" I said yes she said ok and within two minutes I was all set. Just make sure you do this before they start billing you (after your initial 3 free months) because they will charge you the full price for the first month if you do it after they have billed already.

But how much are YOU paying for your "better content?" As far as I know, Sirius does not offer any deals on their service. And as for better content, that is simply a matter of preference. XM has more commercial-free station. They have Major League Baseball and carries every game of the season. MLB also lends itself well to radio, unlike hockey and football which are more visual in nature. They do have Nascar, but many markets have MRN/PRN anyway, so that isn't all that exclusive of a deal. Otherwise, music channels don't differ a whole lot, so it's still a matter of personal preference and NOT really which one has better content.

In any case, this is about the $77 deal, which I have gotten twice, I believe. Ironically, my primary radio is actually cheaper than my add-on because the add-on is $6.95/mo. But that's ok--i can live with it.
