I'll bite. But I better get that $50 card...

Lets see, blue or red... blue or red... blue or... RED!

Amazon page says "usually ships within 3 to 5 weeks" (today is 6/27, so that means somewhere from 7/17 to 8/5 or so). Rebate says request must be postmarked by 7/15, and received by 7/20. That may be cutting things a bit tight, unless the product ships way earlier than Amazon says.

Yeah... looks like a great deal from my end, too, especially with the a9 discount... I'll end up making a few cents even after the stamp. Not the easiest way to become a millionaire, but every penny counts I guess.

Monkfish - if you check out different colors, they will probably have different shipping estimates. I got red and it is shipping out tomorrow (thanks to another spoofee poster for my free Amazon Prime trial).

We already have the Melitta version of the single serve coffee maker (and love it), so this will be a free way to compare the two coffee makers. Yay!

Maybe I'm doing something wrong. Black, blue, and red all show no shipment until late July. White shows a higher price, shipping from JR Music World.
Oh well. I'll have to stick with drip coffee for a while longer.

Wonder how you get the UPC there before the deadline since product won't ship until offer is over?:thumbs_do

I was going to jump on this and then I read....it makes 4oz cups of coffee per pod. Each pod costs ~.21, so an 8oz cup costs ~.42 and a mug, is more than 8oz. I think I'll do better with my Melitta 2togo. BTW..is this 'pod only' or can you use regular coffee??

Pod only. Their goal is to turn the entire coffee drinking world into pod people.

I think the real target market for this sort of machine is the espresso crowd. The pods make the whole process much cleaner and easier -- less muss, less fuss.

But this is no where near espresso. This is just drip coffee. I only ever drink espresso (usually with with milk and sugar. I think thats considered an 'americano').

The ease is the great thing for me. You pop in a cartridge, hit play, and in less than a minute youve got a nice cuppa joe.

As for the volume, I agree somewhat. While a coffee mug is around 10 ounces, you have to conside that lots (maybe even most) people like milk in their coffee. You cant have more than maybe 7-8 ounces of coffee in the cup if youre gonna put in milk or sugar and still have room to stir it around.

Too bad the deal was bad to begin with. the rebate vs shipping times are bad, as repoted on other deal sites too. However if you can find one for a decent price, you can still get $50 off!

Hmm... I guess I got lucky when I logged in to order. Maybe someone had just cancelled an order.

Amazon just sent an e-mail saying that the machine has shipped and will be here Friday.

If we decide to use it instead of giving it away as a gift, I'll post our take on flavor/strength/etc. I know the store models come with several trial pods - although there was nothing about that in Amazon's description, I hope we still get a few.

New update at the senseo.com says "Cash register receipt must be dated between 5/1/06 and 8/7/06. Offer expires 8/7/06. All requests must be postmarked no later than 8/21/06 and recieved by 8/28/06."
So, if you haven't ordered yet, order one now even tho it's higher $$.
If you have ordered already, just be patient.
I contacted Amazon and whined about its delay, they are giving me $10 for its empty promise in its earlier email notification.
