i actually bought one used (mint condition) last year for this price. It's kinda fun when you have nothing else to do, but i think you should save the money and buy a Wii next year instead.

You can buy a LOT of gamecube games on ebay for like $10, and even the "newer" and big name games can be had for quite cheap. Mario Kart, Twilight Princess, Wind Waker, and on and on. It's not cutting edge by any means, but those are some of the most entertaining video games in a long time. You can spend many fun hours, especially with those two Zelda games. For this price, as you wait for the price of a Wii to fall and for the list of games to increase, the gamecube is still a very entertaining console, and for this price it's a steal. Lots of fun and without the big investment.

This one of the features I like about the Wii. I've bought a few GC games at pawn shops for less than $5 each and they just rock! I'm currently playing Metroid Prime.

Got mine on eBay tho. $54 for Melee and this same package with extra 3rd party controller. Also bought Harvest Moon and Pikmin. Lord help my studies next semester.
