    Hi everyone

I was wondering is the honda employee discount over. The reason I am asking this because I moms car just broke down today. and we decided to get a new one. So does anyone know?

ha! neither honda nor toyota needs to do an employee discount. gm's just doing it because of terrible sales, and ford, chrysler, and mitsubishi just followed suit.
No sprinkles. For every sprinkle I find, I shall kill you.

yea i bought two cars from honda recently with their employee discount. its nothing special. feels like they marked up the invoice and give you a discount on the markup. its all just a marketing tool to get you to buy

I have sold Hondas at two different dealerships, and Honda, as a company, does not offer an employee discount program (at least not to salespeople). It is common; however, for employees of Honda dealerships to be able to buy a car for themselves at invoice. This is something done by the dealership themselves, and is not sponsored in any way by Honda. You need to understand this whole "employee pricing" thing done by the big three, and any other car manufactuer is simply a marketing gimmick, and there really aren't that many TRUE deals. Dealerships are simply discounting cars in accordance with a recommended plan by the manufacturers. Let's say there is a dealership named Bob's Chevrolet. Bob buys his cars from Chevrolet for a certain price (minus a few other incentives, such as holdback), and then he turns around and trys to sell the car. Bob is not REQUIRED to sell the car for any specific price. He can sell it for $10,000 over MSRP (Manufacturers SUGGESTED Retail Price), or he can sell it for ten dollars. Chevrolet cannot force him to set a price, just like they can't force him to participate in the employee pricing promotion. Now, GM probably has incentives for participating, but those cars now belong to Bob, and he can do with them as he pleases. Same thing goes with Honda, and every other car dealership. So when a Honda dealership is offering you an "employee discount", it's really nothing special. Any informed car buyer should be able to buy a new car near invoice (with the exception of high-demand, low supply vehicles).
