Vudu App is offering a program where you can concert DVD or Blu-ray to digital format.

1. Download the Vudu App
- Android App
- iTunes App

2. In the menu, click My Vudu then Disc to Digital

3. Click Scan Barcode to scan your DVD or Blu-ray

4. You will get the following options
- Convert DVD to SD for $2
- Convert DVD to HD for $5
- Convert Blu-ray to HD for $2

Since one only needs the barcode to prove ownership, what's to stop someone from standing in a retail store with their connected app and scan blu-ray title bar codes that they'd like to convert and own digitally for $2 without actually purchasing the physical disc? This would be like paying the cost of a redbox rental but owning the movie, providing it's available to scan in the store. Am I missing something? Is the barcode inside the box and only available after purchase?

There is a PC app for this that uses the disc as well and it is half off when doing 10 at a time.

They stopped the 50% off promotion on the pc app. It was replaced with the new app mentioned. I had 9 discs on my list, just needed one more, but I waited too long

To scan the code you need to habe your GPS location enabled, if you are in a store it won't work. Also, Vudu puts your digital copy in the cloud, handbrake puts it on your hard drive.

Scanned every movie in my collection and NONE were eligible, this is either broken or worthless
