Echo Dot 2nd Gen for $49.99 Shipped

I invested a fortune in time and trouble, and paid, for my entire CD collection to get uploaded into Amazon Prime Music. Wow, what a disappointment. If they could transmit it back to me via a method that made it sound at or close to the original, I'd be happy. But everything sounds like junk. It literally sounds like the music is being played through a pillow or something. Absolutely zero high frequencies. Like your worst nightmare of AM radio. These Amazon devices would be great to hook up to your nice audio system and playback Amazon music, but forget it if they can't make the music sound good. Zero bandwidth, zero quality sound.

first generation Echo Dot was for Prime Members Only. We got them at twice the price two months before the new ones came out to the general public. Do I feel screwed?

Google how to CD-rip to MP3. It's automatic and free. MP3s at 256 Kbps sound great. You upload through the Amazon web site.

All of my CD's are ripped via 256K. The problem lies not with my MP3's (which sound great on my laptop) but on how they sound when they come back from Amazon Music. Ugh. Avoid Amazon Music at all costs unless you have zero ability to distinguish high fidelity.

I'm happy with the first gen Dot and enjoy it in our bedroom. It's nice to play music when I'm getting ready for the day.

Dont waste your money on this. Better deals out there or appearing soon.
