Arborday.org has a deal where with a $15 membership sign up for one year you can get 10 free trees and they'll ship them at the right time for your planting season. This deal is only open to new members. Additionally you get with your membership:

  • Membership Card
  • The Tree Book with planting & care information
  • Arbor Day bimonthly newsletter subscription with your 6-month or 1-year membership
  • Save 33-56% off on the purchase of more than 100 varieties of trees

I moved this to the Hot Deals forum since it's not quite a Freebie since you still have to pay the $15. It's still a great deal though. :) This has also been added to the front page. :)

The member prices for trees are the best around and a flat 4.95 shipping on any number of trees this is a killer deal for home owners looking to do some cheap landscaping

I actually got my form in the U.S. Post from them i had a free sticker for a free Crepe Myrtle bush as well though i haven't found any coupon codes to get it online.

I'll bet that the free trees are 6" long, needing 20+ years to grow into a 'tree.'

You win the bet:
"Your six to twelve inch trees will come postpaid (Free shipping) with easy planting instructions."

These so-called trees are seedlings. This is not a deal by any stretch of the imagination.

My husband's grandmother has sent for these several times over the years. They are definitely seedlings, that have to be nurtured A LOT.

In Missouri, there is a program where trees can be ordered from the MO Dept. of Conservation.....they are much bigger and only cost $5-$6 for a bundle of 25 trees (2'-3' tall). We have had great luck with those.

Check with your state government to see if you have something like this in your area....a much better deal.

I've been thinking to get this last year. Sometimes they'll offer free coffee pack; last year this was $12, year before - around $10...

Unless you are passionate about taking many years to grow trees from saplings - this is not much of a deal.
