I've put in an order for one, but I doubt it'll be honored... it did let me check out with it though. After I placed the first order, I decided I'll try my luck and order 10 more, but I get this now:
*** We're sorry. This item is no longer available from the seller you selected. We'll move it to the Saved Items section of your Shopping Cart. From there, you can click the item to return to its product information page and try another seller. ***

I've got my fingers crossed that they'll honor the one or at least offer some kind of compensation...

That just links back to Amazon, so that's gone too. I'm kicking myself for not ordering 20 to begin with (that's if they do let us get away with it)

This pre-order so the mistake will be noticed far before they could ship it...

Does anyone know or have any experience with Amazon just cancelling orders on their mistake like this one? Luckily I got myself one, but then was thinking like Spoofskate said, "I'm kicking myself for not ordering 20 to begin with." I would have sold them and bought a engagement ring and booked a trip to Belize.

Yes they will usually send you an email stating the order has been cancelled. It happens quite frequently. and afterwards people rant and rave how they are never going to buy from Amazon.com and they even threaten lawsuits. If it sounds to good to be true, it probably is.

    Here is Amazon.com's pricing policy

With respect to items sold by Amazon.com, we cannot confirm the price of an item until you order; however, we do NOT charge your credit card until after your order has entered the shipping process. Despite our best efforts, a small number of the items in our catalog may be mispriced. If we discover a mispricing, we will do one of the following:

    - If an item's correct price is lower than our stated price, we will charge the lower amount and ship you the item.

    - If an item's correct price is higher than our stated price, we will, at our discretion, either contact you for instructions before shipping or cancel your order and notify you of such cancellation.

Earliest ship date is November 8.

Plenty of time to cancel everything left and right.
Bah, I wish it was in stock.

Last, people never try to buy more than one when there is a pricing mistake.
Hello! do you want to tip them off?

It doesn't matter how many you buy. Anytime they notice that an item is being bought up by thousands of people at once, they'll know something is up - even if everyone buys only one.

But just as an update, the one that I did try to buy was cancelled, as expected. Oh well, it was worth a shot. Thanks anyway Spoofee

Yep. I was e-mailed an Amazon confirmation this morning. I clicked on it a few minutes ago and it says that my order was cancelled. 2G2BT

Where the heck have you been, that is the only way to get somewhere. Big corporations take on more than they can handle all the time. Take all you want, they'll make more. LOL
