Proof of purchase requirements: a) Retail (boxed or downloaded) customers enclose proof of previous ownership by furnishing the original product CD, diskette 1, title page of manual, or your confirmation email from your download purchase. b) preloaded (OEM) customers, your proof of purchase is a copy of your Help/about screen.

I got nice and lucky. The staples I went too had four of the cendyne 32x12x40 burners on the shelves.

In case anyone doesn't know, these are quite the nice little deal as they are selling *in stores only* for 39.99 with a $50 rebate!

I got 4. Staples is gonna pay me $40 to take four acer (aopen) crw-3248 burners off their hands. :D

I went about 10am. took back 100 slim cd cases that I paid $14.95 for. Cause they were on sale for $9.94/100 but the computer scanned them at $24.95, so the clerk gave them to me for $6.95

Bought the Memorex ultra slim scanner for $16 (after rebate).

Most of the other stuff was sold out. Altthough they did have a Cendyne dvd-r writer for $299 that wasn't on sale as I hoped.

I missed the DVD-ROM drive at OM.

And I was gonna get the ram for someone, but the OM I was in was all messed up. The paper/ad clearly said 128 megs pc133 Kingston ram. The omax rebate form says pc133.

Incidentally the kingston rebate form lists multiple qualifying products including pc100....anyway

The sign in front of the tech section with the ram, with the absurd slips of white paper you bring to the cash register, said pc133.

    The slips themselves?

    Said pc100

Said pc100 for the 64 megs alongside it, and the 128 megs, no slips of paper, even empty containers, said 128 megs pc133 kingston on them. Yet the 20 - 10 - 10 = 0 sign was below the pc100 slips of paper.

    So I said fuhget it.

Really DID want one of those dvd drives for someone darn it, don't need one myself.

So while some people like me were zapping staples, others like you zapped OM, there is balance in the force afterall ;)

Sometimes I have to really wonder what the marketing folks at staples are smokin'..

..and if I can score some of them and use a 20 off 100 coupon :D

I guess you didn't see that they changed the price on the Cendyne dvd-r to $2,998
on the web site? I put it in my cart & then a few hours later they were sold out.
