Theres a possibility of a second rebate, that will lower the price to 9.99

    $29.99 after coupon and rebate
    -$20 other rebate (send copy)
    ----------
    = 9.99 shipped

Although it says they "Do not accept copies of UPCs" people from rebateshq.com seem to be very good at revalidating rebates.

...even if they don't take your rebate, it's still a good price :D

Not trying to threadcrap, but I think that expired:

    Purchase Dates: 11-17-2002 through 12-23-2002
    Postmarked By: 12-09-2002

    --------------------------------------------------------------------------------

    Additional Promotion Details

One retail packaged Maxtor 40GB 7200 RPM hard drive. Offer good on purchase made at Office Depot between November 17, 2002 and November 23, 2002.

Now, I KNOW it says "through 12-23-2002" on the purchase dates, but if you read further down it says between november 17th and november 23rd.

It further goes on to state:

All rebate requests must be postmarked by December 09, 2002 and received no later than December 23, 2002.

Once again, that it is saying it has to be postmarked by 12/9 and received no later than 12/23 further affirms the probability that the 12/23 date listed in the purchase dates is a mistake. If you do the math, the postmark date of 12/9 would be about 15 days or so after 11/23, and most rebates have a "within 15 days from date of purchase" postmark requirement.

A typo over one digit is easily done, typos when typing in the full name of a month, and following this up with the corresponding dates, less seldom.

Could you argue it? Possibly, but we'd be talking about trying to validate a rebate that uses a copy of a upc AND may well be for an expired rebate. Talk about 2 strikes...

Worth $20 for time and BS? Depends on each person IMO.

Yeah, I guess one coupon was a date typo
    as it states:
"One retail packaged Maxtor 40GB 7200 RPM hard drive. Offer good on purchase made at Office Depot between November 17, 2002 and November 23, 2002. Offer good only in US and Canada. All rebate requests must be postmarked by December 09, 2002 and received no later than December 23,"

    but the $40 should work

Does anybody have a copy of the $40 Office Depot rebate coupon? I have a link to the site, but it no longer works.

Funny thing, the link works now. I have the coupon safely stored on my HD , so I won't need you to send it to me. Thanks for your help!

That's one nice thing I'll say about PDF files, you can save them to your HD.

.....that's also the only nice thing I'll say about them :D
