"The Two Towers" is released Wednesday

Anyone as excited about this film's upcoming release as I am? I've read The Trilogy dozens of times over the years, and never tire of it.

Book 2 is full of action and great characters. ...I can't wait.

Jackson took a lot of liberties with the story. He placed an Elvish army in Helm's Deep.

Farimir's troop took the hobbits to Osgiliath! ....Where Frodo had an encounter with (ahem) a RingWraithe mounted on a Fell Beast...What?

No Huorns appeared to turn the battle at Helm's Deep.

The Black gates of the Morannon were superbe..better than I imagined.

The Oliphants were fantastic, at least triple the size of an elephant and more like a mastodon

The Fell Beast is pretty cool.

The Eye of Mordor is great! Barad Dur has magnificent artwork! Orthanc looks like a pale imitation of the Dark Tower (which it is actually)

Treebeard is awful, the whole sequence in Fangorn went nowhere.

Gollum was a scene stealer whenever he appeared, He has a split personality and has conversations with himself...great stuff.

No Shelob, I guess Jackson moved that section into "Return of the King"

Frode seems to see himself in Gollum and is too pitying, although not as sniveling as in the first film. Samwise seems like he is going to kiss Frodo at any moment.

Aragorn was attacked by a Warg and fell off a cliff...What? Where Brego the horse finds him and wakes him up by kissing him! HUH?

PJ has completely eliminated Anduril, The Flame of the West, weird since much of the story centers on its reappearance and its power.

Gimli is now a complete buffoon and played for comic relief - stupid,...Legolas does a trick with a horse in battle which looks fake and also surfs down the stairs. - silly.

Looks like PJ had to suck some @$$ to get this picture funded, thats the only thing which could explain these ridiculous liberties taken with the storyline.

I gave it a C+ but doubtless I will see it a couple more times.
