This is a GREAT product. I got mine at the Thanksgiving Day special at BestBuy for $49.99 + tax, shipped free ($149.99 - $100 in rebates!), incredible deal. Even at $69.99, it's a good deal. You'd have to pay $50 these days just for a 4-5 port 100MB switch. For $20 more, you get a router, wireless AP (22mbps w/ compatible 802.11b+ clients), and firewall. And the firewall is VERY easy to configure, LOTs of features (IP, MAC, URL and domain filtering, virtual servers, VPN pass-thru, DMZ, etc.), firmware updateable. I love it and you will too.

I came across the the same wireless router plus a PCMIA wireless card (complete set) at Costco for $159.00, there is also a $50.00 rebate if you buy online by Dec 31st, o now I'm not sure which would be better. How much is a PCMIA card?

    Paul,

Pricegrabber.com is showing the DWL-650+ card for about $50 (after rebate), best deal. $109.00 - 50 = $60 (for the router), so Costco would appear to be a slightly better deal (approx. $10). Fortunately, the D-Link products are Wi-Fi compliant, so if you don't need the 22mbps feature (in reality, standard 802.11b only gets 4-6mbps, the + version doubles this at best), i.e., no local file transfers, just braodband which is no better than 1.0-1.5mbps for most users, then you can probaby pick up a third party (Wi-Fi compliant, of course) PC card for a LOT less, have seen them for < $30 at times.

Anyway, that Costco deal (essentially, $60 for router, $50 for PC card) is a very good deal if you really want that 22mbps PC card. I've had VERY good results w/ the D-Link stuff, I'm using the 11mbps DWL-120 USB and it's just fine for me (both the DWL-650 and DWL650+ can be had on eBay for $35-40). Btw, I prefer the DWL-120 USB model, makes it usable for laptop AND desktop as the need arises (probably a little cheaper too).

Also, I assume Costco is charging shipping too, that's probably another $10 (just guessing, didn't check). And you need to be a member too (of course). When you consider this, it's probably a toss-up.

Turns out Dlink also has MIR's and I checked, and the will apply them to the Costco one, so you might be able the whole kit for about $100 after MIR.
