    Toshiba Satellite 1.8GHz 15" LCD Laptop = $650

I've got this from another dealsite... got no time to check it!
Somebody check it! It would be a really nice deal, if it's true!
    -----------------------------------------------------------------------------------
    BestBuy.com has the Toshiba Satellite 1415-S173 1.8GHz 15" LCD Laptop for $1200 - $300 rebate (Exp 12/21) - $50 rebate (Exp 1/16) = $850 with free shipping.
    Celeron 1.8GHz, 256MB SDRAM, 30GB Drive, 15" LCD, 16MB GeForce2Go, 10/100 + 56k, 8x DVD + 8x CDRW Combo, XP Home, 1-yr Warranty.
Update: Bestbuy now have another $200 rebate for which S173 qualifies in addition to the $350 rebate. This makes the laptop for $650 only!

    it seems to be right!

These are the links to the rebates (200+300+50=550!):

Nothing fishy at first sight and the rebates are clearly mentioned on BB site too: http://www.bestbuy.com/detail.asp?e=...t=494&scat=495

    Update/Suggestion for alternative rebate!

    So, here's ALTERNATE rebate:
    http://cdgenp01.csd.toshiba.com/cont...174_011603.pdf

... which gives you the choice of an AC adapter, a battery or $50 cash!
Instead of "only" $50 cash as indicated on the Best Buy (and Circuit City) rebate forms, the best deal, by far, is not cash but THE BATTERY!
This is a really high-end 9-cell Lithium Ion battery and it sells for over $200!

    Assh*les at Best Buy

canceled my order due to too many rebates being offered. My order was placed and accepted and showed status of shipping then it went on backorder then the cancellation letter (email).

It was almost too goog to be true - heck it was !!!!!!!

That's the reason they gave you -- too many rebates offered?? Heck, they were advertising the rebates themselves on the product page. Pretty cheezy.
