but remember back when memory got down to $1/meg? it was amazingly cheap then. and this is now what? 30 cents/meg. and its a fairly new technology.
$260 is still a lot of money for a stick of memory tho. it would take a long time for that to pay off in the amount of film it is equivalent to.
actually maybe not, film costs about $0.15 per picture, not including developing (because u might want to develop your digital prints as well). so thats about 1780 pictures taken with the memory. thats not bad. especially counting all the crappy pictures i tend to take and just delete, that i would have wasted film on. then there is the costs saved from not having to develop all the pictures (especially those crappy ones)
but anyways... i have too much free time at work...
