I read the article but is this ONLY from DUSTOFF or any air duster??

The story is sad, but is it safe to use this stuff in well ventilated areas for those of us who use it as it's intended (to clean off dust)?

Also, my Staples said this is not carried in stores, so it's online only.

Does anyone know how long it's on sale for $5 for a 2 pack?

2 years ago this would've been considered a bad price as I used to get these same 2 packs from Fry's for $1.99, but since 2004 Fry's hasn't sold any compressed air cheaper than $2 per can (usually $2.50 or $3), so this is on a par with recent prices. (And then financial "experts" say inflation is under control... well, it's certainly not on compressed air and CD jewel cases. Prices on those items have more than doubled in the last 2 years.)

It is most propellant products that kids are trying to get high on. You should keep an eye on all the chemicals in the house as it is.

ventilation

I believe you have to breath it in in a pretty high concentration to do anything bad, so I would think it is safe in normal ventilation for the average user who is just cleaning the keyboard or something. I've been using compressed air to clean stuff for years and never had a problem

Yes, a lot of states require id to purchase these types of products in stores. Virtually any aerosol product can be used for "huffing" as it's called.
