Free Shipping Supplies (Boxes, Tape, envelopes etc.)

I found this about a week ago. USPS has free shipping supplies including free shipping to your address. (I ordered a total of over 300 boxes etc and they all arrived today free.)

    http://shop.usps.com/cgi-bin/vsbv/po...p?appName=SSOL

On the left hand side of the screen under Browse Store move your mouse over Shipping Supplies and select either Personal use or Business use.
You will need to create an account with them but no credit information was asked for or supplied to them.

    If it's FREE... It's ME!!!

Are you kidding? So you're saying that USPS will give you free shipping supplies whenever you want or is this a limited time offer? This is GREAT for selling stuff on eBay etc.!

Free Shipping Supplies (Boxes, Tape, envelopes etc.)

It appears to be permanent. (I cannot find anything on the web site about "While Stocks last" or "Limited Time Only")

I figured it'd be great for packing up the junk in my Basement as well as sending stuff.

After clicking the checkout button i get this message. Could you help me? Thanks

For security reasons, the current session with The Postal Store website either timed out or couldn't be retrieved.

This has been going on for a long time. The really don't have any big boxes. You cannot use the boxes to ship anything other than USPS, because the boxes are stamped property of USPS on the inside and have the priority mail logo on the outside. If you use them for any other use, besides shipping with USPS it consitutes mail fraud or something I read. And they are only priority or express boxes. When they send them to you they make you send back a form you sign stating you understand the terms and conditions.

If you ship USPS priority mail this is a good, but if you intend on using for anything else it wont work.

fed ex & ups will do the same thing if you call them.
but again, the shipping materials can only be used to
send things with the company who supplies the box.
It is easier for the shipper to move packages
that are the same size & have the mailing
    labels in the same location.

    I just grab a box & envelope or 2 from the express/priority
mail stand when I buy stamps at my local post office.
and keep a few boxes/envelopes in my basement.

The shipping tape is probably the best thing you can get. It's strong enough to package big and heavy items, and you can also use it for a ton of other things. I got three rolls so far, and plan on getting more in the future.

This doesn't have to do with the free offer really, I just had a question for everybody: I noticed that one person said they pick up envelopes from a stand at their post office. Well, at all the post offices in my area, in Tennessee, you have to pay for any envelopes or boxes that you want to use that are at the post office. I've never heard of a post office giving them away. Does anybody else get stuff for free? Does anybody else have to pay for that stuff?

    Hey pinkflutterbys,
    How's it going?

All the post offices that I know of in my city (I've been to about six different ones) have boxes and envelopes for free. Of course, they're not just free blank boxes and envelopes; they're already printed or tagged by the USPS. Maybe it's free here because it's a big city or something (I live in San Francisco, California), I'm not sure =P

BTW, your name sounds pretty cool... haha

The boxes you get for free are premarked "Priority Mail" and are for shipping items "Priority Mail" only. They do not give free unmarked boxes, plain tape, unmarked envelopes, or unmarked mailing labels. You can only get free items that are marked for "Priority Mail" and they can only be used to ship as such. You can get them from any USPS, just have to ask for them.
