Software will self-destruct on June 1, 2007. I can just picture the warning messages as that date approaches...

    Thumbs up

The reviews I read said RC1 was a lot better. Might be fun to have a peak on a spare computer.

in the first press release of rc1 you were supposed to use the same key that you had for your previous version of vista. and i've used the same key i had before so it should be fine.

What fatalities are we talking about? They do mention that you shouldn't use it in a productive setting.

    It is an upgrade>>

Thank you for your interest in Windows Vista Release Candidate 1.

Before upgrading from Beta 2 to RC1, please install any Critical Updates from Windows Update for Beta 2. Go to Start, All Programs, Windows Update, and click the “Check for Updates” button.

Windows Vista RC1 is available for participants of the Windows Vista Customer Preview Program. Please go to the Customer Preview Program website to register and receive a Product Key, which is required to install and activate the software.

Why would you want to test drive a car before buying it? ;)

I think that you should be able to do a clean install:

There are three installation scenarios for Windows Vista RC1:

    1. You can do a clean installation. This process will overwrite any data that you have on your hard disk or on your installation partition. The overwritten data will be lost and unrecoverable.
    2. You can upgrade an existing installation of Windows XP.
    3. You can upgrade an existing installation of Windows Vista Beta 2.
