It may be available, but I would highly doubt it. Microsoft usually offers a "technology guarentee" which will provide you with a free copy of the UPCOMING release of OS and I don't think they would offer for so cheap plus allow you to VISTA for free.

Of course this could be why they are offering the rebate now, instead of christmas time

I don't know if the technology guarentee has been offered but I have a meeting with our Microsoft Enterprise Licensing rep later this week.... specifically the new versions coming out.

I don't see any rebates for XP Pro, so probably not. You can still use the $20 off $75 though ;)

Deal is most likely dead now. Entered like 4 different zip codes for my area and in NYC. Nothing...OOS.

FYI on the site is says pick-up only!!

Microsoft usually offers a "technology guarentee" which will provide you with a free copy of the UPCOMING release of OS and I don't think they would offer for so cheap plus allow you to VISTA for free.
I highly doubt they will be giving anyone vista for free AFAIK even people that are currently running the beta aren't going to be getting price cuts

    Odd rebate

Oddly this rebate form says send in the form, and a copy of the reciept. No UPC? Hope they dont return it saying NO UPC- DENIED!

Also, mine is being shipped to me - no local pickup?

    Mine is on its way.
    No UPC? Odd...

I believe you can open it in order to read its license & then return it to MS if you don't agree to it for a refund :-)

Btw, you can get Xp Pro for free from a college as MS has an educational program that lets them give you a copy (you bring a cd) & a key.

Anybody tried to get them to substitute XP Pro? ...lol. Anyways, It's showing as OOS in my area, but I'm gonna try calling and see when they expect to have more, maybe it'll still be possible to purchase a copy or two within the allowed window 9/10-9/16 for the rebate. Worth a shot I guess. TOORUDE
