    so i went to checkout... and it says it already applies 200$ mail in rebates to the price and the final price is 499.99
    Are the mail in rebates at checkout, the 2 rebates in the offer posted on spoofee???? this not making it possible to reach the 299.99 offer??

    The $200, at check out is an instant rebate, the 2 $100 mail in rebates have to be mailed in. The mail in rebate forms are in the original post above. So the deal works as stated.

    your price:
    mail-in rebate(s):
    (Limit 1 per household. Bundle rebate savings require additional purchases. See rebate coupon for details.)
    price after mail-in rebate(s):

    Save $400 this Week Only Including $200 Instant Savings

    You can bring the price further down by another $25 if you select the cheaper video card option. The only downside is that it doesn't have built in wireless support, but you can get a card for $10 when they are on sale and after rebate.

    FYI, there are sales tax for some states. At least for California.

    I got one of these last August for roughly the same price with an Office Depot special that was going on. Although that may make the deal seem less wonderful, it really isn't.

    The computer is great after a year of heavy use - it performs well and has given me no trouble. I would recommend upgrading to 512mb RAM and getting the extended life battery (the only two upgrades I chose). Both are well worth the cost and make the computer far more valuable. My extended battery lasts me close to four hours and has shown no signs of power loss.

    I'm half tempted to get another one for my wife to use...

    If you can wait another 2 months, I see laptop going even cheaper as Microsoft will release Vista and the laptops with XP Home/Pro will have to be significantly reduced. Not to mention that Vista has 512MB requirements.

    RedLenses:

    Normally, I would say that $15 is nothing for a processor upgrade... BUT... with the faster processor you get half the L2 Cache. Unfortunately, i am not computer savvy enough to know exactly what that means, so maybe someone else can help (or you can research it). I would definitely find out, though.

    black:

    I was able to order and configure mine in store, but I got mine at Office Depot. I'd recommend calling your local CompUSA. I don't see why you wouldn't be able to do it there. When I did it, I actually got onto one of the store computers. I would assume they'd do the same at CompUSA. Alternately, try restarting your computer to see if the cookies problem disappears.

    Black,

    its just a cookie problem. you can either try to use a different browser or you may have a firewall/internet security suite that is blocking the cookies from compusa. Or edit your cookie settings to allow all cookies temporarily and then change back after you have finished ordering.

    alternately, you can try to order from another PC.

    Oh, and fair warning... I just got onto the site to see if I could get through the order process (I could), and they are advertising one month build time. I guess a lot of people jumped on this deal...
