I couldn't find any available within a 50 mile radius of my location. These are sold out in most brick and mortar best buys. I had to order it through bestbuy.com.

That is only for one 1gb stick. The deal @ bestbuy is 2 x 1gb sticks for 2gb of memory.

Actually G.Skill is far better in general. Corsair generally runs at exactly the rated settings, not much better. If G.Skill usualy runs higher. But the Best Buy memory is the Pro version, with all those activity LEDs and such.

Is this a dual-channel kit, or two individual 1gb sticks? The dual channel kit would have a model # like: TWIN2X2048-6400PRO. On the Best Buy website it lists the model #(or part of the #) as CM2X1024-6. CM2X1024-6400PRO is the model # for a 1gb stick of RAM.

This is somewhat about brand names vs generic, but when running SLI or CROSSFIRE your cpu and ram bottleneck your performance. And corsair makes SLI ram so you won't be bottlenecked in that area.
But it is one hell of a deal.

It is not dual channel, but it is the same memory used in the dual channel kits (the TWIN2X2048-6400PRO that you listed). Here is a description of the memory.

Dual channel memory is just 2 sticks of the same memory in 1 bank on the motherboard. There isn't really a specific difference between dual channel memory, because it is actually a motherboard based technology (not a memory based tech) Meaning, these sticks at best buy can still be used as dual channel.

Yeah, they added $12 to the order for taxes, which is weird because I never really pay taxes when I make purchases online.
