I fixed your post. I think you mean router, not modem.

No problem. I don't know about prices, but this stuff normally goes on sale a lot. I normally use Linksys stuff when I install networks for people. Netgear is also good. D-Link is also supposed to be good, never tried them.

They're all pretty good, at least the top brand names. Let me know if you need model numbers etc.

    Hey there,

I have the new SMC wireless 802.4g router and it's pretty good, but stay AWAY from there PCI wireless card. It stinks! I bought the deal as a combo. I have had to quit using the wireless card and go back to hardwire. The connection kept dropping out. I tried several different channels and such, but no luck. I tried to update the driver, but that Hosed XP networking so bad that I had to roll back the computer to before I installed the new driver. The wireless router itself is great, but the card stinks. I would go with a Cisco or similar wireless card if your wanting one for your puter.

    It's not the a = F/m that kills you it's the F=MA.

I agree completely with Kage_ and his advice about the wireless PCI cards! You'll definitely want to get the USB adapters. Also, it's not really great to mix and match brands. That deal at Amazon for the combo might be your best bet.
