A Word of WARNING on The Works

FYI: This stuff is really harmful and dangerous!

I was cleaning my bathroom and didn't screw the lid on right to "The Works (thick formula) toliet bowl cleaning, and I set it in the hall. Long story short, accidently tipped it over onto the carpet. It instantly destroyed my new carpet! :verysad: It "ate" right through the carpet and pad in a matter of seconds!! It literally came apart in pieces from the area it affected.

I got to reading the label, this stuff is bad to have around the house if you have kids, pets, etc., imagine what it could do if it accidently got in your eyes or on your skin when you were using it. Just to let everyone know!

Man, JJ, you're having a bad day, aren't you? I'm sorry about your carpet-I can't even imagine.

Thanks for passing the warning along, and I hope your day gets better. (It has to, right???)

Sorry to hear about your carpet JJ.

The Works is some pretty powerful stuff. I worked at a little country store and we had to keep it behind the counter because kids were using it to make bombs of some type.

I am sorry to hear about your carpet I just had new carpet installed this summer and it is not cheap. I hope you kept a piece so the installer can come back and repair it. If not I heard they can take a piece out of a closet and repair it.

Good luck I cant imagine I would be so upset.

And I will never use that product.

We do actually have a lot of carpet left over, it's just going to be hard to install it with it being in the hall and the color differences to the other rooms/rest of hall (they had problems when they first installed it and had to order more and the colors were off).
