I suggest someone sticky this thread.

Just because not everyone reads the T&C or fine print..

To qualify for this offer, purchases must meet the following requirements:
    1. Purchases must be made on eBay.com, eBay.ca or on merchants' sites in the US or Canada.
    2. eBay.com and eBay.ca purchases must be made through the eBay checkout flow via the eBay website and must not be made through the PayPal send money tab.
    3. Purchases must be made between 11/23/06 12:01 PST and 12/31/06 11:59 PST.

The following transactions are excluded from this Cash Rebate offer:
Send Money transactions, payments to Personal Accounts, eBay payments made to Personal accounts, donations, Text to Buy and payments for services. The Cash Rebate will be deposited into the participants' PayPal accounts within 6 to 8 weeks after 12/31/06

    Very nice - thanks!
BTW, it's not just ebay, but also any Paypal merchant who will appear on the Paypal page during the offer.
"Participating PayPal merchants will be displayed on the PayPal Holiday landing page starting 11/23/06. "

I dont get it... what's the catch? What is Paypal getting out of this from people who are already Paypal members? Are they going to spam the crap out of us? I don't see any detriment here, which goes against the saying "nothing's free"

Who says nothing is free? There are a lot of free stuff in this world, it all depends on how smart you are in finding and getting them...

Never was it said that it was just ebay. as stated in rule 1 of the T&C, Ebay, Ebay Canada, or merchants' sites in the US or Canada. Nowhere does it say only ebay.

This is very likely a response to Google checkout's $10 off $30 promotion.

Thanx for the post, never know when that one item you are seeking will be found, great to get $20 off if they make it possible, and I can see this being a counteracting move to Googles checkout incentive going on, PayPal is getting some competiton, trying to get their customers back, losing too many fees perhaps, but, if it works for the consumers, all of us, all the better

Nice deal, but if Paypal is doing this in response to the Google Checkout deal (which is has been UNLIMITED $10 off $30), it's pathetic. Hardly going to convince someone to stop using Google Checkout. In fact, I've heard of more than one person claiming payment was made by Paypal to the retailer, but the retailer claimed they never got paid. Meanwhile, Paypal claims they did, leaving the customer holding the bag! Outside of using Paypal w/ eBay, my confidence level in using Paypal w/ any other retailer is extremely LOW. Let's hope we don't have similar horror stories once this deal commences.

Do you think that this will still be valid by shopping at ebay express? It's linked thru the main ebay site.

    $50 Including Shipping?

I wonder if the item amount is less than $50 but more than $50 w/shipping will work for this?
This is temporary, eternity is forever. Know JESUS?

Hi Spoofed, so sorry that happened to anyone with PayPal, I have used their service alot and never once had a problem with the stores, etc, recieving pymt using it, I have used Google, but still feel more secure with PayPal. The only issue ever was the phishers out there sending the occasional BS email trying to get info, but that happens with everything regarding info, easy to spot those, just report those to Ebay or PayPal, they investigate it. Customer service at PayPal has always been really great when I needed to call them on a couple of things, cancelled ordered due to back order not happening, etc, very pleasant they were, and helpful, very knowledgable too.
