Unless you actually buy these at the Bricks & Mortar store, then you apparently will also have to pay for tax and shipping. Not sure what that will amount to, but it may not be worth the hassle of doing a rebate and waiting for the check and paying the tax and shipping.

This is a great deal. If you use them in oft-utilized lamps, they will save you about $100 each in electricity over their lifetime of many years.

Not for use in ceiling fans or in lamps with poor ventilation as that will shorten their life considerably.

I'm getting two of these packs to supplement the other mini-spirals we have already.

I agree, this bulbs are money savings "miracles". I have replaced every bulb in my house with these 13-watt bulbs.

Hey Matt, is that a photo of Tom Cruise as your avatar? You're a good looking guy but as for the Scientology nonsense... LOL.

Another thing to consider is that using these bulbs in fixtures with dimmer switches will also shorten their lives a ton.

I cannot answer that but I do know that the 13-watt mini fluorescents are equivalent in light output to a 60-watt incandescent bulb.

The brightness output is determined by lumens, which here is 800 (which, as you say, is around the brightness of a 60watt incandescent). I'm interested in the spectrum of light the bulb produces. I want 5000-7000k bulbs to simulate sunlight to get some decent light this winter in the crappy north.

I looked them up at the Energy Star website and it doesn't have the kelvins. Sorry.

Just be careful with these. Some of them are extremely poor quality! I bought a bunch and installed them all over my house. They are supposed to last for years (most say 5-7) but several of mine burned out in less than a month! Some of the other ones burned out in 2-3 years.

    YMMV
