    Favorite Book?

Do you have a book that you really enjoy? A favorite? Mine was "Blindness" by Jose Saramago (1996). Timeless and appropriate for any era.

It would be nice to get up a Spoofee Reading List!

My favorite book was actually all drawings of frogs. It shows the frogs on their lily pads and then by some strange force the lily pads start to float while the frogs are still on them. They float into town. I can't remember all that happened but it was a fun book. All imagination.

I gave the book to my younger brother about 14 years ago and have never seen it again. If YOU know the book, let me know. I'd love to buy it again.

I would have to say my favorite book is Twilight Eyes by Dean Koontz b/c it's was the first book I read for fun and it got my obsession with reading started. Here are a few book I read this year that I have really enjoyed:

Eragon & Eldest (first two books of "The Inheritance Trilogy") by Christopher Paolini - Great epic in the same vein as Lord of the Rings, I am hoping to go see the Eragon movie soon.

All Harry Potters books are excellent, enough said about that.

Angels and Demons & The Da Vinci Code by Dan Brown are some of the most exciting books I have ever read.

The Amulet of Samarkand & The Golems Eye (First two books of "The Bartemaous Trilogy") by Jonathan Stroud - A Harry Potter style young adult read that I enjoyed, I have the final book for this series but haven't read it yet.

I am currently working on the Bourne series by Robert Ludlam(sp?) and I must say so far book one, "The Bourne Identity", is very intense and NOTHING whatsoever like the movie.

Anything by Dean Koontz, James Patterson and Steven King. I don't really have a favorite now though. When I was a kid The Velveteen Rabbit was my favorite.

I'm pretty sure that the book you're talking about is called Tuesday, by David Wiesner. It was published in 1991, and won the Caldecott award.

I think we have the same taste in books! I have read all of these (except To Kill a Mockingbird ). I Know This Much Is True was one of my favorite books! I also like anything by Amy Tan. I am reading The Bonesetter's Daughter right now.
The Poisonwood Bible and Daughter of Fortune are also very good books. I also love Stephen King but haven't read too much of his newer stuff. I think I read everything by Judy Blume growing up. She is the best!

Give yourself permission to a half hour of free time without anyone bothering you! Whether it is in early morning, or right before bed time. We Mommies never seem to take that twenty minute break to tax our minds as much as others stress our energies!
