    Speaking of comfort foods.......

When you get sick, is there anyone food/drink that you associate as being your "comfort food?" I remember growing up (before God made DIRT!) when we kids got sick, my Mom would bring us up Chicken Noodle soup, coke in the old green bottle, and a comic book! Today I am under the weather myself, and, the first thing I looked for was chicken soup and crackers and a soda which I so rarely drink! So Spoofee members, what foods do you treat yourself to when ill? Wishing you all the best of health in 2007!

It was kind of the same for me with exception to the comic book and that I haven't grown up yet...:p (although many years have passed.. )

I forgot about tomato soup....that is comfort in a mug!

Did any of your moms ever slice hot dogs into circles and float them in pea soup? I just remembered that, haven't had that in years......

We did that with pork-n-beans, not pea soup.

Comfort food is a BIG baked potato, butter only, please

My comfort food for my migraines is a bagel and cream cheese. Other illnesses call for a pot pie. I love them.

Ginger ale and buttered toast was the remedy for just about everything in our house. Otherwise, soda pop was not allowed ever. I gave myself the measles by sneakily drinking my sick sister's ginger ale while her temperature was being taken.

The smell of ginger ale today makes me slightly nauseous.

LOL LOL You sneak you! LOL Seriously, try not to feel guilty....remember, the herpes virus family of which chicken pox is a prime member, takes a 7-17 day incubation period. Chances are YOU may have had the virus before your sister, but, she manifested it first! Yeah, you know, come to think of it some soda's have a weird smell, like birch beer and root beer!

when we were really sick (flu-like stuff) the cure was a hot mixture of lemon juice and bourbon. the lemon juice was heated and poured into the bourbon just before we drank it, so that the alcohol wouldn't evaporate. You'd be asleep in 2 minutes and the bed would be wet from perspiration when you awoke the next morning, but you were CURED.
