What a sad society we live within! Not because people are literally dying to be thin, or spending a fortune to look like a super model, but, because of the psychological fragility of people in general!

I am happily over the fifty year mark, I have sags, I have wrinkles, and I am overweight. Yet every morning, I wake up, thank God that my feet are above ground, and, stand naked in the mirror and proclaim: "DAM GIRL YOU"RE HOT!" That always brings peals of laughter out of myself and I start the day on a very light hearted, and, grounded, note. At my age, I know my flaws, and, I know my fine points.

People today are fractured emotionally, and, don't recognize their own gifts. So they try to buy them, apply them, or drain another person for validation of themselves! I say let's teach our kids how to appreciate, validate, and, communicate their needs and desires. That way, they won't fall prey to the unrealistic demands placed on them by a skewed culture. In the end, it is really is up to the parents to start this process at an early age, and, not fall prey themselves to what their neighbors are doing, or what Glamour magazine suggests is the latest nail polish which is a must have for an eight year old girl! Time to GET REAL and GET TOUGH on the subject before we loose another child to health issues or unnecessary surgery.

And to the Spoofee men out there...your sex is starting to fall prey to the same demands. Whether it be to have the "perfect six pack" to have the highest paying job, or, to gain the trophy wife. Learn that what you bring to the table should be enough for any mate, be happy with yourself, improve where you can, but remember, cardiac disease and stroke affects men in heavy numbers. Learn to balance and remember that we ladies appreciate a healthy gentleman, both physically and psychologically!

Rags is now off her soapbox. After years to dealing with teens, parents and health issues, this is a topic which turns me on my head. :worry:
