    Post Bestbuy has a blacklist!

The following practices are among the most common and most offensive in the eyes of retailers. If you commonly engage in any of these practices, you may soon find that your next return is denied or your name has been added to a store's "blacklist" of bad customers.

    * Buying a product, taking advantage of the product rebate, then returning the product for a refund.

    * Buying clothing or another item, wearing it (or using it) once, then returning it (the classic example is the evening gown that's worn with tags on for a night, then returned).

*Buying an item and returning it with the intent of buying it at the reduced "open-box" price

    * Buying clothing or another item with the intent of returning it later and re-buying it at a markdown price.

    * Buying a product at a discount, such as from the store's selection of "loss leaders," (low-priced products stores lose money on that are designed to attract customers) then reselling it on eBay for a premium price.

    * Finding rock-bottom prices on Web sites, then challenging stores to pay up on their lowest price guarantees.

    * Taking up an employee's time to ask questions about a significant purchase with the intent to buy it elsewhere.

I personally am bugged by the last 2 they mentioned.
My bestbuy never matches online prices.
My bestbuy employees usually does not give me help and if they did, I should have no reason to buy from elsewhere if their pricematching is true. Their employees should be trained to tell their customers about their great pricematching policy.

Admittedly, I have never carried out any of the practices on that list. The most I have pesonally attempted was to see an item on sale up to ten days after my original purchase, and, either returning to the store or calling with my receipt and asking them to match the sale price. Most stores have that "two week grace period" where they will indeed match the new sale price. Makes sense......saves them paperwork and time in a long run on returns, then resales.

When I go into Bestbuy it is like entering another world for me! Shucks, the sales personel are usually under the age of twenty-five, and avoid us "old farts" like the plague! Nothing amuses them more than to have me come up and ask them questions about some hard rock/metal/ rap CD that a family member or friend requested! I stand there as if they just spoke Russian to me and usually they just go off in a sprint, with me behind them, pointing to the product on the shelf! I get them going when I ask "So tell me young sir, do YOU listen to this stuff and when was the last time you had your hearing tested?!?!?!" That alone gets them and me, laughing, always a good thing!

    And...

they have a 'suck-a**' return policy (that their employees either don't know or are instructed not to reveal) on laptops.

The BB policy is "14 day limit" that they do not extend for X-mas.

I went into BB to pick up 2 laptops (3 wks before x-mas & as advertised in their x-mas flyer), bought them and returned them before I left the store.

I ended up speaking to the store manager because the sales guy was 'very elusive' during the sale.

BB is not very consumer friendly.:thumbs_do

Just wanted to comment about Best Buy

A new Best Buy opened up near me yesterday. On the radio I kept hearing about special deal and such so I stopped in on my way to the gym. I didn't see any extraordinary deals. I bought a cd and two camera batteries and spent $60. When I was looking at the battery packages at home, I noticed the they both had stickers underneath the top ones. The were both marked up two dollars each.
I know a lot of stores will up their prices AND have major discounts when they are going out of business, but I didn't know they do it when they open a new store as well.
I'm gonna think twice about purchasing anything from Best Buy in the future.

I wouldn't walk into Bestbuy even if they were giving stuff away!
    The return policy stinks!
    Their products stink!
    The employees are stupid!
And the Managers are the worst!

The only reason I ever go to BestBuy is to see the products up-close-and-personal that I will eventually purchase online. I examine them closely, and do not ever bother talking to sales people, because I can educate them myself more about the products theay are supposedly "selling". I have NEVER, EVER seen a deal in Best Buy that would be cheaper than on the web, except, maybe some CDs/DVD's.
