    Smoking Ban?

In your opinion should smoking be banned from dining establishments, bars, and, open public places?

Sure, especially dining establishments. I would like to taste my food without having to breathe someone's nasty second-hand smoke. I also have asthma and don't appreciate someone else being the cause of an asthma attack.

yes, it is in New York .....not sure about open public places, but it should be. It's so annoying to leave the mall/building and be confronted by a huge smoke cloud at the exit door because everyone stands at the door to smoke outside. Disgusting.

I wish it would be banned here! Most of the restaurants don't allow smoking, but some still do here....

Washington has one of the the nation's strictest smoking ban. It passed only a few months ago. Smoking is banned in any public place including bars and nightclubs. It is also illegal to smoke within 25 feet of any doors, windows or vents of any public buildings.

They just passed a city ordinance here stating there is no smoking in resturants not long ago.

It hasn't been banned here, I really wish it would be. You're right about the exits, there is nothing better to leave any store with someone blowing a big puff of smoke into my toddlers face.

Nothing agaisnt smokers, my husband USED to be one for 13 years, but it is SO bad for you, my husband is proof of that, even though he never got cancer (or hasn't YET, you can still get cancer years after quitting), there are other side affects that aren't fun.

More importantly, I think it should be illegal for parents to smoke in their cars with the kids inside, I see it all the time (windows not even rolled down), and in homes with children that live there. The side affects are just as bad for them as the smoker, and there bodies are so much smaller, just think how it effects them!! Okay...I'm done venting...

Yes. Especially dining establishments. But bars? No one would go if they couldn't light up.

It is banned here in Ohio everywhere. I wish the law wouldn't have been "all or nothing." I think that bars are ok... I mean if you go into that environment you expect that. Resaurants are different. I'm glad there is no smoking there. Too bad the law couldn't have had certain exclusions but I suppose they figured "well, if you let this person have it, then you need to let that person..." blah blah.
