    Ziploc bag omelet

This works great ! Good when you`re alone or when all your family is together. Best feature is that no one has to wait for their special omelet ! Have guests write their name on a quart-size Ziploc freezer bag with permanent marker.
You can Pre-make portion sizes and freeze, eggs freeze fine, or pop in the fridge for a few days. (few days only)

    - Crack 2 eggs (large or extra-large) into the quart size Ziploc bag (not more than 2) shake
    to combine them.

    - Put out a variety of ingredients such as: cheeses, ham, onion, green
pepper, tomato, hash browns, salsa, etc.

    - Each guest adds prepared ingredients of choice to their bag and shake.

    - Make sure to get the air out of the bag and zip it up.

    - Place the bags into rolling, boiling water for exactly 13 minutes. You
can usually cook 6-8 omelets in a large pot. For more, make another pot
    of boiling water.

    - Open the bags and the omelet will roll out easily. Be prepared for
    everyone to be amazed.

    - Nice to serve with fresh fruit and coffee cake; everyone gets involved
in the process and a great conversation piece.

It really does work and the eggs come out really fluffy, I'm using this idea while camping too.
AND THINK, NO FAT TO FRY IN!!!!!

Does "exactly 13 minutes" produce a well done egg?
I like to live dangerously and have mine a bit runny. The flavor is worth the risk of dying, IMHO

Interesting, are zip locs made to be boiled??? (Is it safe?) I know they're saying not to mircrowave in plastic containers anymore....just wondering. But I like the concept.

    Thanks karebear!

yes it works. We have done it with our family when we all got together at Christmas. We wrote our names on the outside of the bags with markers and boiled them toghether. They were yummy!

I am going to give this a try also.

Seems like something I can make without fudging it up. LOL

I will make one of these for Babs, breakfast in bed. I will go pick-up a 3 dollar boquet of flowers and maybe light a nice tealite candle and be good to go.

I actually get mad when my husband spends too much on me

I'd rather get a $3 bunch once a week or so (even sporadically), than a $60 once a month.....it shows he thinks of me often and is not being overly extravagant with our funds.....although a $30 bunch every now and then is nice to break things up ;)
