    Super Bowl food items....

Well the "big day" is on Sunday! Is there a dish, a dip, a snack, that you enjoy making, taking, eating for the game? I make a "Bacon Roll Up" appetizer that is a no brainer to make, it freezes well, transport easily, and, tastes great!

Will happily email it over (once I dig in my recipe drawer!) to anyone would enjoy trying it out! Not at all expensive, and makes a nice hot appetizer!

We'll be making wings. Not going to deep fry them; but we'll coat them in sauce and bake them.

My hubby & I try to make a couple of new foods every year for the Superbowl party, but some of our regulars are beer margaritas, warm lobster dip, Dagwoods, mini pepperoni pouches, whoopie pies, and plenty of Humpty Dumpty potato chips!

Figured I would post the recipe here in case some folks would care to try it out over the weekend. The ingredients are those that most folks keep about the house. I ususally use a flavored cream cheese like chive and oninon, or garden veggie. Add a little zip to it with some red pepper, garlic powder! You can use potato bread, or a pepperidge farm bread, it is a bit more dense. Save your bread crust and freeze for stuffing down the line! Enjoy, Rags

    Bacon Roll Ups:
    INGREDIENTS:
1 (1 pound) loaf white bread, crusts trimmed
1 (8 ounce) package cream cheese, softened (flavor it up for added zip!)
1 pound sliced bacon, cut in half

    DIRECTIONS:
    1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C).
    2. Cut each slice of white bread (without crust) in half horizontally. Spread with cream cheese. Tightly roll each piece of bread wrap with half a piece of bacon. The bacon should be on the outside of the bread. Secure with toothpicks.
    3. Arrange roll ups in a single layer on a medium baking dish. Bake in the preheated oven 30-40 minutes, or until bacon is no longer pink and bread is lightly browned. Serve warm.
