This is the old "classic" Slingbox, not the newer AV or Pro one.

Yes in a way it is! Because it has a Tuner built In and has inputs for RCA and S-Video. So basically you can control 3 sources (including a tuner). This feature is found on the Pro version of the new Slingbox along with Optional hookups for a HD type connection (another $50). So if you don't plan on going full on HD with your sling then you don't need to waste $250 when you can get same stuff for $99. After all your mostly slinging to a PC not a HD monitor so whats the point. Sure there might be some enhancements on the new versions but are they worth the money?

How is the quality on this piece? Will it be choppy or would it be like watching TV at home? Also i would assume it uses a lot of Bandwidth because you need an active internet connection. Can anyone estimate how much you would use for a 30 minute show?
