Ad (Closed) Free Auto Check like Carfax

If you are thinking of buying an used car, you can research if the car has had any accidents or issues reported. Just find out the VIN (vehicle identification number) and replace the ##### with it.

    fostermotors.earthcars.net/cgi-bin/autocheck.cgi?dealerid=koonscollegeparkford&vin=## ###

Is there some reason why we have to manually type in the vin through the link? Feels like we're going through some back door entrance or something...

If I had to guess, I would say that koonscollegeparkford is paying for the 'free' report, but that's just a guess. Maybe they have unlimited use

Any way that we could have spoofee check on this? I really don't want to have us screw this company over by looking up multiple VIN numbers.

It's just the way the link is written. Spoofee only automatically parses url's that begin with www. and sometimes http://

Cool. I ran a check on a car that is in my name, that I was planning on having junked. Well now it seems that I have go to the district att. because someone applied for a duplicate title and forged my name and sold the car to someone. Don't want the car, just don't like the idea of someone forging my signature on anything. I guess they are going to feel really silly when they get arrested for this. It is illegal, ya know.

It's called a back door, and it is stealing a service that someone else is paying for.

Copy and paste the link into your browser but replace the # signs with the VIN number of the car you want to look up.

Step 1: Go to your car port, garage, street, wherever your car is located at

Step 2: Grab a sheet of paper and a pen, pencil, lipstick, coal, or whatever you can find to write with.

Step 3: look into your car's driver side dashboard from the outside of your windshield (if you can read backward, reading from inside the car is welcome)

Step 4: Write down the amazingly long string of letters and digits. It will look similar to "201DE8350X0974485" or "JT2XE8180R1957205" as an example

Step 5: Come back to your computer, open your internet explorer, Mac, or Firefox browser

Step 6: type on the browser address bar
http://fostermotors.earthcars.net/cgi-bin/autocheck.cgi dealerid=koonscollegeparkford&vin= (and the number you have written down on your paper)

As an example from the VIN above, it would look like:

    http://fostermotors.earthcars.net/cgi-bin/autocheck.cgi dealerid=koonscollegeparkford&vin=201DE8350X097448 5

Step 7 (optional): If you still cant figured it out.. nevermind.. move on with the next deal.

You should be able to check your insurance card or registration for the VIN.
