It's just a personal preference, but I turn the sound off on the remote and the batteries last much longer. Granted, the sounds and the rumble are part of the experience, but for most games I turn both off.

Here is a nice looking Charger system for 29.99$. The Wii Charge Station accepts two Wii controllers (not included) and simultaneously powers them. When the remotes are recharged, an LED charge indicator lights up. The charge station includes two NiMH rechargeable battery packs and a six-foot power cable. On top of everything else, the charge station comes packed with two rubberized battery covers for an improved grip.

    It will be available 3-20-07.

    It is listed on Ebgames.com

The owners manual states to not use rechargeable batteries.

If you're worried about battery life, you might want to wait and see how that charging station works out that ChazMan posted.

I'm waiting for this to come out. There are other things like this that are simular but cost $24 and only charge one. Until then my NiMH AA's are doing just fine

Only problem is you can't use that charging station if you have one of those silicon skins on the wiimote. Ahh well.

My Wiimote batteries last fine for me, even with sound all the way up and rumble on. I play it usually an hour a day.

I might look into the charging station, once I see some reviews.

Hmm, I just went to Toys R Us a couple weeks back and they had plenty of all controllers. The game stores, department stores, and electronic stores within 1/2 mile of the store were all sold out though.

Standard rechargable batteries do not work in some devices because of their discharge curve rolls off much quicker than normal batteries. However, rechargable alkalines have a discharge curve very similar to regular alcaline batteries so they will work just fine in any electonic device.
