Ok guess what...

Ok all of you know that I am employed with Walt Disney World.I passed my test for Security yesterday and am quite excited about doing so.But I now have a new problem. I am having problems keeping my blood sugar in control.My sugar was 44 on Friday,so I was a little sick feeling all day.:( .Yesterday as we were doing CPR,my sugar became wacky.It didn't go low,it went high.I can normally tell when I need to eat as I will start feeling funky and I get sort of snappy.This was at 12:15.So in the course of CPR training,I became ill.My trainer who is diabetic sat with me in the ladies room and pumped grapefruit juice in me.Two glasses full.But that didn't help me.So I requested EMS to check me out.They came and checked my sugar which was 147,which is high for me.Then my security manager came and had a talk with me in his office....ruh roh.I was advised that I am a high risk for Disney Security with my uncontrolled blood sugar.I was advised because I am a liability for them,I wouldn't be able to drive any Security vehicles(I can totally understand) nor would I be able to stand outside and direct traffic,in case I pass out and get squished like grape by cars.
So now I have to be recasted.I am no longer in Security like I wanted and I am sad.I cried because I worked so hard to pass the test and everything and even went and got my Disney Security costume yesterday...and now I cannot.I am so embarrassed by my uncontrolled problem.So I now have to find somewhere to work.Yes I know that I need to eat when I need to,but that isn't easy to do when you are busy at work.I cannot go to the doctor because we have 70 more days before Ed's medical from Disney becomes effective.Please don't think bad of me,I am feeling bad enough as it is.Thanks for listening my dear friends.:verysad: :verysad:

Look at the big picture.....your health first. Isn't there a walk-in clinic you can use to tide you over?

Seems like theres nothing but trouble for you at Disney. Why not look elsewhere?

That's too bad. Maybe you can find someone who can help you maintain control of your health. It helps to have a buddy to prompt you.

Sorry to hear about that, MrsK! I'm w/ Squiddy....time to look some place else. Disney doesn't sound right for you. You can do better. Best of luck to you.

I am so sorry. You can't help it if you are sick.
I know nobody wants to work for a temp agency, but that's how I found my last 2 jobs. Many of the bigger companies with good benefits only hire through temp agencies. You may want to try that route.
A hint if you apply, tell them you are interested in temp to hire full time positions.

Its not Disney's fault.Its my own fault.I am going to a job fair today and see where I can be placed.
