I've had good luck with the house brands from CompUSA. I've used two now as replacements. A 250 and a 300 watter ATX.

They support fan speed monitoring and are very quiet, in fact quieter than my Antec desktop ps. The 250 watter has been running now for 6 months non stop in a Celeron based system.

They just had a rebate deal this week on the 300watt model ($20 rebate) but they were all gone when I got there. I wanted to have one in stock as a back up.

Btw that link you gave(SiliconValleyCompucyle)has some good stuff available and decent prices. Its in my bookmarks now - thanks for the link.

A power supply producing 350 watts for $12 is extremely inexpensive.

I am not familiar with that brand though so I don't know the quality of the parts in it. It may have for instance a sleeve bearing fan instead of a ball bearing fan.

It does not seem to have fan speed monitoring which is becoming standard today. Many PS in fact have a built in temp sensor as well as a lead for the motherboard to monitor the fan speed.

If it gives a noise spec of say 30db then that is kind of loud in todays envoirment. Low to mid twenties is common. A "good" ps will have a spec like this.

The pic doesn't seem to have a lot of leads coming out so it probably can power the basic peripherals but not a lot of extras.

Looks like a basic, no frills, but high power PS at a great price.

You really can't go wrong with this ps fro $12. Its not like your spending $80. If for some reason you are unhappy with it they are simple to get out and replace. These devices are very rugged and last forever. I've only seen two of them go bad and one was due to my stupidity in blowing it out.

It doesn't hurt to blow the dust out of the PS once in a while either. The dust gets in the bearing and screws up the fan sometimes.

Just a word of advice. Don't skimp too much on a power supply. They pump the blood of your computer.
