You do NOT have to be a senior or even over 50, though priority is given to low-income earners and senior citizens. As long as you do not own your own business, they will do your taxes free of charge. My fiance and I went yesterday and they were very helpful and thorough.

i wish i had knowm about this,i did mine yesterday at hrblock

:claps: I am under 50 and called to make a appointment for tomorrow to get my taxes done FREE.
They do ask at this location that you bring all the tax forms that you will need along with the books sent to you by the state.
I asked if age was a problem they said no, and never asked what my income was either.

thanks greatly for the post groove1

O.k. I guess I didn't need all the forms. You do need last years return and all your paper work for this year. They automatically efile your taxes, though you have till 4-15-08 to pay by mail.(if you owe)

I owe, I owe, life would be easier if I was a hooooooooooooo

They do ask for last year's tax forms, but the reason is that any state tax you paid in 2007 is deductible from the feds in 2008.

I received my state tax refund check quickly and my federal one a couple days later. Now I wish I had used DD as the people who selected that will get their rebate checks first.

There is also a similar program called VITA which was offered near us:
