Amazon.com has a few great deals on the Adidas Men's Adistar lightspring. If you don't care about the way your shoes look, ...

and if your feet is BIG. (size 14-15)

obviously you guys dont run. rule number one is the more outlandish the shoe, the more respect you get when you run. i would get a few pairs of these to wear out to bars or clubs if they weren't track shoes w/ spikes

But these arent running shoes, are they? Theve got spikes on the soles, like golf shoes or some crap.

theyre not regular running shoes, theyre for sprinting. thats why the spikes are only on the front, so you can get a good push off. golf shoes would have spikes on the whole shoe.

track shoes have soft or screw in spikes

These are track shoes meant for sprints. You should be able to use them without the spikes, but I doubt they would be very comfortable or provide much support for daily walking around use. They are also extemely light.

I might get them to relive my old days on the Varsity track team! Then again, maybe I shouldn't...

Oh.. I was wondering because I need new running shoes, but like for running on asphalt or dirt.

get Puma's, you might pay more, but you will never go back!

Mostro Mesh's are super light, like walking on air. Perfect shoe if you are a balanced runner, or running on a track. I wouldn't recommend it for trails, as there is not much support. Happy shoe hunting!

These shoes aren't really for running at all. They are competition shoes and are usually only seen at track meets. They provide no support whatsoever and they don't last very long--definitely not a workout shoe.

Thanks for the info. But maybe I need support since Im a newbie runner and not what you would call "in great shape". Any advice on shoes with decent support?

If you are flat-footed and need arch support, I recommend Saucony's Trigon 3 Guide (around $80). If you don't want to shell out that much, look for any shoe with "posting" (it's a permanently raised midsole) and denser grey-colored foam on the midsole (on the outside of the shoe). Asics calls it "Duo-Max" but it's the same thing on other shoes. I like Saucony because they last 400-500 miles.

If your foot is neutral, I recommend the Nike Air Zoom Elite 2. These shoes last anywhere from 300-500 miles--although the rubber on the bottom runs down after about 300.

Of course, the most important thing is finding a shoe that fits well and feels good.

Happy hunting.

I was looking for a gag gift for a buddy but I will have to pass.
