I need me a kitten for my mental health. Unfortunately, I'm in no postion to have one. But I hope someone out there saves the life of one of God"s most perfect creatures.

I might be interested in a new cat. Hopefully there's a shelter near me. Thanks!

It's very ironic - and kinda sad - cause, like I mentioned, our local shelter is involed in the promotion. This is the same shelter where I was adopted by my lil kitty "Daisy" (a/k/a Pantera!) She was a ferrel cat and even had difficulty bonding w/ the shelter staff, let alone with us. But this safety and security we've established with her has come at quite a price. Pantera! is so very aggressively territorial, even at 8 years old now (Heaven forbid we befriend a new human neighbor because she goes totally ballistic). I can totally understand WHY she behaves this way, but I really wish that we could open our hearts and home for another cat. I won't do that to her because she's been through so much allready ... but I see so many animals that are in need of a home and we have so much room that I feel so bad. One consolation is that this is a no-kill shelter - they send the elderly and sickly cat to another non profit organization called "Angies Angels" where the manager takes care of them even though they are deemed "unadoptable". Sorry for venting - I hope somone read this...

Shelter dogs and cats rule.I always adopt.

Oh I wish I could! We've talked about it, NO NO NO, should say he talked about it. 1 cat is enough, and 55 gallons of fish tank.

i have lots of love but hubby says no.

This is great because there are so many animals that need homes, but I sincerely hope no one takes advantage of this just because it is free. Adopting a pet is a huge responsibilty, and It just makes me wonder how many of these "free" Pets will actually go to good homes, As for me, I have my hands full with my 2 dogs, both which did come from animal shelters. I'll pass this alone to a friend of mine though that is looking for a new kitty for her daughter.

I was thinking the same, but don't worry it's not Halloween. I actually did refer someone who did benefit from this post, they will have a happy, long life together. You can see the sparkle in her eyes when she talks about the cat, and it is full grown, guess what she called it? Spoofee!
Spoo for short.

I forgot and missed this. I would have to go to another city for a participating shelter anyway. I've been considering getting a kitty and to be honest didn't want to pay $110. There are other homeless kitties in my future. (The shots, de-clawing and spaying will probably cost more than $110, though.)
