Amazon Prime Price is Increasing. How to Get The Old Price

Amazon is increasing their Amazon Prime membership to $139 from $119. You can lock in at $119 now and renew your membership once it expires.

Regular Price is $139

Amazon is raising the price of their Amazon Prime Memberships to $139
Amazon Prime Membership will go up starting February 18th, 2022 from $119 to $139. The price of monthly subscription will also increase from $12.99 to $14.99.

Why is the price of Amazon Prime going up?
Amazon said they are increasing the price of Prime because of expanded Prime membership benefits such as more Prime Video contents and offering free shipping on more items. More likely, it's to compensate for the rising costs of labor and transportation.

If you can, canceling is the best option
If you plan ahead, you can still get free shipping with a $25 purchase. It just won't be 1 to 2 day shipping for free. You can also just sign up for the monthly Prime membership to partake in the Prime day sale.

How to pay the old cheaper discounted rate on Amazon Prime
If you do want to keep your Prime membership, here is the way to keep paying the old price of $119.

Step 1
Go to Amazon

Step 2
Buy the 12 month gift for $119

Step 3
Just apply the gift to your account

Of course, the best way to save is to just cut Amazon Prime out of your life all together, but it's so fast and convenient.

When you buy it as a gift instead of just having your account renew, they add sales tax... which brings it up to over $130 anyway. So it's less than $9 savings which is nice, but not as big a savings as I hoped.

Is this how Bezos is going to pay for his $500 million yacht and to dismantle the historic bridge ?

LOL.. I have never paid membership to Amazon and others. I still can find deals and free shipping and usually it's cheaper than Amazon.

The offer says the gift prime IS NOT ELIGIBLE FOR PROMOTIONAL OFFERS. Which means you cannot get all the good deals they do.

. If the recipient is already a Prime member, the gift can be exchanged for an Amazon.com Gift Card in the value of the original gift purchase price plus any applicable sales taxes paid.

This doesn't work for current Prime members. It just converts the $119 prime membership into a gift card. You can't stack yearly memberships.

Didn't work for me. It converted the value of the gift membership into a gift card. Not cool.
