Do you believe another school shooting just happened???? Now an amish school in Lancaster, PA?? WTF is happening with our kids???

Is it the kids or the parental guidance?

IMHO I don't kids are 'children' long enough and the violent video games doesn't help (it just anesthetizes their brains). Too much, too soon.:(

I don't think parents spend enought time with their kids anymore. I try to keep an open comunication with my 13 year old. Boys aren't great at talking at that age but I know enought to know who his friends are and where he's at all the time. I am a very nosy mom. ;)

We need to start arming the teachers.
These sickos KNOW that no one's going to shoot back at them immediately, because the Government has made it illegal to have a weapon on a school campus, making every school a potential shooting gallery.

Please feel free to flame me for my opinion, but please try to come up with a BETTER deterrent.

I couldn't agree more!! Kids are not allowed to be kids anymore past the age of 5 or 6.Too much is expected from them too young ,especialy from the school syetems ,maybe that is why soo many of these violent acts are happening at the schools.
You can be the greatest most attentive parent but once they start school they spend more time in school then they do with you at home ,so if that is not a posative environment for them it doesn't realy leave you with too much of a choice.

Quick update, folks, the shooter wasn't a kid.

I just heard the details on the news of what happened. This is just horrible.:(

The shooters in the last few school shootings haven't been students. They've been weirdos that just walked in off the street.

Today at our faculty meeting we were told we now need to keep our classroom doors closed and locked during class.

I guess that's the safest thing to do but it stinks because the a/c in my classroom is broken.

Well, if you notice, most shootings happen in the caffeterias during lunch....so.......a lot of good it would do keeping doors locked during class. Can't hurt, I suppose :convinced:

im scared of school shootings

Don't they have to be buzzed in to get into the schools?? I am sorry I have not followed the last couple of cases at all and don't know any of the details.
At the schools around here you have to "ring a bell" and the office staff can see who's at the door on a monitor and then you have to check in at the office, they don't usualy let you walk around the school,if your there to see a teacher or your child they come and meet you in the office.I am not saying that it's a fool proof way,I am just wondering if not all schools have protective measures in place

I remember being in school before summer vaca would start sweltering without Ac because none of our schools had any.

ok that last post didn't come out correct,my quote got mixed in with the other persons quote.Sorry about that. I was asking about the people getting into the schools.

You can hear it thruought the school?? If you can that must be very disturbing.

That school is literally 20 miles from me, its sad, even sadder why he did it (revenge because HE molested young family members... wtf?) He didnt have to involve thos kids,

On another note I start a new job the 16th doing sales for a company who sells security systems (you have to swipe an id card or fingerprint to gain access to the school and also every class and the cafe, with metal detectors... Unfortunately we NEED this extensive system in our schools to leave out intruders ( http://www.schooltech.com )

Hey casey, glad to see you around again! :claps:

It's a sad day when we need this just so we can educate our children...what kind of monsters did we, as a society,...create???
