With network.. So its a switch or hub? Aside from the six outlets and surge protector, what is the benefit?. I dont have room for another large black box where my consoles are.

Good question... I wish buy would put more info up...

Per the description given on various sites, this item is just a surge protector and no more

Description from pricegrabber:
Description: APC's SurgeArrest Game Manager neatly organizes your entire PS2 or X-Box game system. Removable storage modules enable you to safely take your games and memory cards with you wherever you go. Six built-in surge-protected outlets ensure your entire gaming or entertainment system is protected from dangerous power surges, lightning and spikes. That's enough outlets for your game console, TV and four other electronic devices! Transformer blocks spacing of outlets lets you connect bulky transformer block plugs without covering up other outlets. Once a circuit has been compromised, a Fail Safe Mode disconnects equipment from the power supply ensuring that no damaging surges reach your equipment. A Protection Working indicator provides proactive notification of whether surge suppression circuitry has been damaged. A site wiring fault indicator identifies dangerous wiring problems before you plug in your equipment. A resettable circuit breaker enables asy recovery from overloads, no need to replace a fuse!Designed for Xbox, PlayStation 2 and PlayStation units, SurgeArrest Game Manager offers storage for games, controllers and memory cards, with enough space to safely store up to 20 DVD games, or 8 cased games, as well as up to (4) memory cards and (2) game controllers. APC provides a $25,000 Equipment Protection Policy.

It disconnects the faulty equipment? Thats fancy. I didnt notice any little robotic arms on it..

It looks like it's a surge protector built specifically for game consoles. The 2 things on the side look to be cradles for controllers, the 20 white tabs on the front are ejectors for a tray or slot that holds a DVD/CD. It must also have places to plug in your ethernet and coax so that they are protected from surges also, like what you see in an A/V surge protector, or the ones made for PCs that also protect your modem.
