I have been contemplating on switching over to the 'Apple side' after using one at Fry's. Does anyone know where the best deals would be?

I'm really iffy on buying one at eBay or a refurb.

Apple controls the price of their hardware. If you have a school affiliation, you can get a price break on the Apple site in the education section.
Other possibilities are places like macmall.com or macwarehouse.com, where the price of the computer is the same as Apple's price, but they bundle a printer, extra memory, or software at the same price.
If you're looking at used or refurb, go to shrevesystems.com. They are the oldest Apple 'remarketer' there is. I've dealt with them several times with good results each time.
Welcome to the bright side of the force.

WOW, all of that information definitely helps me out!

I no longer use my PC as 'gaming' and such so I figure an Apple would be the way to go. I have the electric mower, the jetta, might as well go all the way!

So far macmall does have some great offers. Thanks again Dan. =]

I hope this info is still useful to you. Mini Macs (new, not refurb) with the Intel Core Duo processor are one of the best deals around. They range from $599-$799, depending on power. You'll need to BYODKM (bring your own display, keyboard & mouse). Members of my Mac user group have the general consensus that Apple may stop selling these as the profit margin is so slim for what you get.

And if you buy at an Apple store with a genius bar, they'll transfer files from your old computer (don't know if they'll do it if it's PC, but worth asking).
